Dream Horse

Opens May 21 in theaters, and it also played May 19 as part of AARP's Movies for Grownups.] When Welsh grocery store cashier and bartender Jan Vokes (Toni Collette) and her husband Brian (Owen Teale) decide to buy a mare and breed its foal Dream Alliance with the hopes of making a bit of money with the guidance of a former syndicate leader (Damian Lewis) in Eros Lyn's engaging, factually inspired, upbeat, tense, entertaining, predictable, 113-minute, 2020 film, they bring the fractured community together by convincing skeptical townfolks (Karl Johnson, Siân Phillips, Joanna Page, Nicholas Farrell, Darren Evans, et al.) to jointly own the horse as a syndicate and to train it to race against thoroughbreds with the hopes of competing in the Welsh Grand National.
