Jojo Rabbit

Oscar-caliber performances and terrific cinematography dominate this captivating, original, creative, poignant, gut-wrenching, touching, and well-written, dark, 108-minute, comedic satire based on Christine Leunens's novel Caging Skies that follows a Nazi-obsessed, nationalism frantic, idealistic, 10-year-old German boy (Roman Griffin Davis), who lives with his secretive mother (Scarlett Johansson), as he joins his second best friend (Archie Yates) at a Nazi Youth camp run by a one-eyed captain (Sam Rockwell) and his cohorts (Rebel Wilson, Alfie Allen, et al.) and converses with his imaginary and oddball best friend Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi) while contemplating what to do after he discovers a fiery Jewish teenager (Thomasin McKenzie) his mother is hiding in the attic during the end of WWII.
