Stockholm

Terrific acting, dialogue, and soundtrack highlight this quirky, factually inspired, entertaining, hilarious, well-written, unpredictable, 92-minute, 2018 crime drama based on Daniel Lang's 1974 New Yorker article The Bank Drama and reminiscent of Dog Day Afternoon in which a Swedish police chief (Christopher Heyerdahl) tries to negotiate over a 6-day period with a robber (Ethan Hawke) who has entered a Stockholm bank in 1973, has taken three employees (Noomi Rapace, Bea Santos, and Mark Rendall) hostage, and then demands that his best friend (Mark Strong) be released from prison and that they be given unmarked bills, food and drink, and a getaway Mustang.
