Gorgeous cinematography and costumes highlight this unusual, bleak, well-acted, violent, 143-minute, 2018 film in which a withdrawn, tenacious, taciturn, orphaned milliner (Juli Jakab) goes to Budapest in 1913 to secure a position as a hat designer at her family's once-owned, prestigious hat shop now owned by a secretive, well-respected businessman (Vlad Ivanov) who carters to royalty (Susanne Wuest, Julia Jakubowska, et al.) and surprisingly learns that she has an outlaw brother (Marcin Czarnik) who viciously murdered a count and is hell bent on destroying the current shop owner.
