Widows

After their crooked husbands (Liam Neeson, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Jon Bernthal) allegedly end up dead after a heist in Chicago in this gripping, well-acted, twist-filled, violent, well-paced, unpredictable, star-dotted (Colin Farrell, Jacki Weaver, Garret Dillahunt, Lukas Haas, Carrie Coon, and Matt Walsh), 128-minute Steve McQueen thriller based on Lynda La Plante's 1983 ITV series, one of the anger-fueled housewives (Viola Davis) recruits two other widows (Michelle Rodriguez and Elizabeth Debicki) and a getaway driver (Cynthia Erivo) to carry out a robbery that her husband had meticulously planned to rob the mayor (Robert Duvall) of $5 million when a ruthless mobster (Brian Tyree Henry), who uses his henchman brother (Daniel Kaluuya) as an enforcer, claims that her husband owed him $2 million and gives her one month to pay up.
