Where Is Kyra? When her aging mother dies in Brooklyn in this dark, depressing, well-acted, realistic, 98-minute film based in the story by Dosunmu and Darci Picoult, a desperate, down-on-her-luck, middle-aged divorcee (Michelle Pfeiffer) struggles to find a job for two years after being laid off and finally resorts to impersonating her mother in order to cash her pension and social security checks while ignoring the advice of her new boyfriend (Kiefer Sutherland) to come clean with the authorities before she gets into more trouble.
