Love, Simon

A touching, bittersweet, realistic, humorous, coming-of-age, 119-minute film based on Becky Albertalli's novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda in which a gay, sensitive, talented high school student (Nick Robinson), who lives with his parents (Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel and cook-loving sister (Talitha Eliana Bateman), begins an online conversation with an anonymous classmate (Keiynan Lonsdale) with whom he feels close during their emails, struggles to come out to his close friends (Katherine Langford, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., et al.), and then a self-centered student (Logan Miller) threatens to disclose his secret unless he helps him get a date with a comely African student (Alexandra Shipp) to whom he is attracted.
