Hostiles

An intense, captivating, factually inspired. heartbreaking, well-acted, star-dotted (Peter Mullan, Ben Foster, Scott Wilson, Bill Camp, John Benjamin Hickey, Paul Anderson, Scott Shepherd, and Robyn Malcolm), 127-minute film in which a legendary, Indian-capturing, U.S. Cavalry captain (Christian Bale) is forced by his colonel (Stephen Lang) in 1892 to gather a group of soldiers (Timothée Chalamet, Rory Cochrane, Jonathan Majors, and Jesse Plemons) to escort a terminally-ill Cheyenne war chief (Wes Studi) and his family (Adam Beach, Q'orianka Kilcher, Tanaya Beatty, et al.) from New Mexico to the Valley of the Bears in Montana and along the way they end up protecting a suicidal widow (Rosamund Pike) whose husband and three children were massacred by Comanche Indians.
