Shape of Water, The Guillermo del Toro's Oscar-winning, captivating, critically acclaimed, creative, touching, superbly acted, well-written, star-dotted (David Hewlett, Nick Searcy, Stewart Arnott, Nigel Bennett, and Danny Waugh), 119-minute, romantic sci-fi fantasy film with striking cinematography in which a mute, lonely, egg-loving janitor (Sally Hawkins), who works at a secret, high-security government laboratory in Baltimore, is helped by a feisty coworker (Octavia Spencer), her artistic neighbor (Richard Jenkins), and a duplicitous Russian scientist/Soviet spy (Michael Stuhlbarg) to save an imprisoned, intelligent, music-loving, amphibious creature (Doug Jones) with whom she has become attached after learning that he is being terrorized and tortured by a cruel, abusive, ambitious, womanizing colonel (Michael Shannon) in the early 1960s.
