Big Sick, The

After a Pakistan-born standup comedian/taxi driver (Kumail Nanjian) breaks up with his divorced, wannabe-therapist girlfriend (Zoe Kazan), who is close to her parents (Holly Hunter and Ray Romano), in Chicago in this engaging, low-key, factually based, intermittently funny, 119-minute romantic comedy, he realizes that he really loves her when she becomes desperately ill and finally stands up to his strict, traditional Muslim parents (Anupam Kher and Zinobie Shroff) who constantly try to set him up with Muslim girlfriend.
