Rules Don't Apply

Terrific acting dominates this funny, entertaining, factually inspired, campy, quirky, cameo-dotted (Ed Harris, Martin Sheen, Candice Bergen, Alec Baldwin, Oliver Platt, Steve Coogan, Amy Madigan, Paul Sorvino, Chace Crawford, and Haley Bennett), 126-minute comedy in which a virginal, talented, song writing, spunky, gorgeous, devout Baptist, wannabe actress (Lily Collins) leaves Virginia for Hollywood with her strict mother (Annette Bening) in 1959 to screen test for the eccentric, genius, reclusive, ice-cream-loving billionaire Howard Hughes (Warren Beatty) at his RKO studio and finds herself attracted to an ambitious, kindhearted, Methodist chauffeur (Alden Ehrenreich), who is already engaged to his childhood sweetheart (Taissa Farmiga), when he alternates driving her around town with another driver (Matthew Broderick).
