Edge of Seventeen, The An engaging, down-to-earth, well-acted, coming-of-age, 102-minute film in which an unhappy junior high school student (Hailee Steinfeld), who lives with her widowed mother (Kyra Sedgwick) and older, hunky brother (Blake Jenner), turns to her schoolteacher (Woody Harrelson) and an artistic, smitten friend (Hayden Szeto) to cope with the death of her beloved father (Eric Keenleyside) and when she becomes jealous and angry toward her longtime best friend (Haley Lu Richardson) who begins a serious relationship with her brother.
