Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them When a compassionate British wizard (Eddie Redmayne) arrives in New York City in 1926 with a suitcase full of magical, mischievous creatures that end up escaping in this imaginative, creative, entertaining, family-friendly, witty, star-studded (Colin Farrell, Jon Voight, Johnny Depp, Samantha Morton, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo, and Zoë Kravitz), unpredictable, 133-minute J. K. Rowling prequel to the Harry Potter films dominated by wonderful special effects, a tenacious wizard investigator (Katherine Waterston), her mind-reading sister (Alison Sudol), and a wannabe pasty shop owner (Dan Fogler) help him in returning the animals to the suitcase while the city is terrorized by an angry, menacing, destructive force known as the beast (Ezra Miller).
