Certain Women

While a Montana lawyer (Laura Dern) is called in by a Livingston sheriff (John Getz) to negotiate with her rifle-wielding client (Jared Harris) who has taken a security guard hostage after being unhappy with a worker's compensation package and a couple (Michelle Williams and James Le Gros) with a teenage daughter tries to purchase sandstone breaks from a torn down schoolhouse from an elderly aloof neighbor (René Murat Auberjonois) in this somber, low-key, down-to-earth, critically acclaimed, 107-minute, slice-of-life film based on Maile Meloy's short stories, a lonely horse rancher (Lily Gladstone) finds herself attracted to an attorney (Kristen Stewart) during a night class on the law.
