Shallows, The An intense, well-acted, predictable, taut, violent, 97-minute thriller in which a disillusioned medical school dropout (Blake Lively) from Texas leaves her widowed father (Bret Cullen) and sister (Sedona Legge) in Texas and heads to Mexico to relax and surf and becomes the target of a tenacious, voracious great white shark when a local (Óscar Jaenada) takes her to a secluded, secret beach only 200 yards from shore.
