Miles Ahead

Terrific jazz music dots this engaging, factually inspired, well-acted, 110-minute, 2015 film that begins in 1979 and is told in flashbacks in which a tenacious, Rolling Stone magazine writer (Ewan McGregor) tries to interview reclusive, cocaine-addicted, legendary, "social music" jazz trumpeter Miles Dewey Davis (Don Cheadle) who desperately tries to retrieve a tape from a greedy Columbia record producer (Michael Stuhlbarg) and his new protégé (Keith Stanfield) while reminiscing about the early years with his dancer wife (Emayatzy Corinealdi).
