5th Wave, The Gargantuan plot holes dominate this silly, ridiculous, disappointing, farfetched, star-dotted (Maria Belo and Ron Livingston), 112-minute, sci-fi thriller in which an Ohio high school student (Chloë Grace Moretz) goes in search of her younger brother (Zackary Arthur) with the help of a man (Alex Roe) who saved her life when an army colonel (Liev Schreiber) takes him to a military base with other children (Nick Robinson, Maika Monroe, et al.) in preparation for the fifth wave after aliens send out a magnetic pulse that takes out all electronics in the first wave, cause extreme flooding in the second wave, spread a lethal virus in the third wave, and in the fourth wave begin taking humans as hosts.
