Chi-Raq After another despondent mother (Jennifer Hudson) grieves the tragic death of her 11-year-old daughter due to gun violence in Chicago and desperately begs any witnesses to come forward in this down-to-earth, violent, quirky, star-dotted (John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson, D.B. Sweeney, Steve Harris, Harry Lennix, Dave Chappelle, La La Anthony, and David Patrick Kelly), 125-minute-Spike Lee satire, which is based on Aristophanes's Greek comedic play Lysistrata, triggers the gorgeous girlfriend (Teyonah Parris) of a rapper (Nick Cannon) to reach out to other lovers (Ebony Joy, et al. ) of gang members (Wesley Snipes, et al.) and concerned women (Angela Bassett, et al.) to withhold sexual relations in an attempt to stop the senseless killings and the nonstop war between rival Spartans and Trojans.
