Brooklyn

A heartbreaking, unpredictable, charming, well-acted, 111-minute love story about a wannabe-bookkeeper Irish store clerk (Saoirse Ronan) who leaves her widowed mother (Jane Brennan) and older sister (Fiona Glascott) in Ireland in the 1950s with sponsorship from an Irish priest (Jim Broadbent) to travel to New York where she lives at a Brooklyn boardinghouse run by a feisty woman (Julie Walters), ends up falling in love with a kindhearted Italian plumber (Emory Cohen), and then is torn when she must return to Ireland after a tragedy strikes.
