Trumbo A compelling, factually inspired, gut-wrenching, star-studded (Helen Mirren, Elle Fanning, John Goodman, Alan Tudyk, David James Elliott, Michael Stuhlbarg, Steven Root, Roger Bart, John Getz, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), 124-minute film based on Bruce Alexander Cook's biography Dalton Trumbo,that focuses on the talented, award-winning, Communist Hollywood novelist and screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (Bryan Cranston), who has a wife (Diane Lane) and three children, when he was blacklisted in 1947 and later was imprisoned with other Communists (C.K. Lewis, et al.) for contempt of court and his political beliefs as part of the "Hollywood 10."
