Suffragette

A compelling, well-acted, factually inspired, heartbreaking, inspirational, 106-minute film based on Abi Morgan's novel Suffragette that focuses on the hard life of a rebellious 24-year-old English laundress (Carey Mulligan) in London who sacrifices a life with her husband (Ben Whishaw) and son (Adam Michael Dodd) when she joins a group of tenacious suffragettes (Meryl Streep, Helena Bonham Carter, Ann-Marie Duff, Shelley Longworth, et al.) in 1912 while under the scrutiny of a British police inspector (Brendan Gleesen).
