Truth

Awesome acting dominates this captivating, ire-inducing, factually based, star-dotted (Stacy Keach, John Benjamin Hickey, David Lyons, Lee Anne Ford), 121-minute political thriller based on Mary Mapes' book Truth and Duty: The Press, the President, and the Privilege of Power in which hard-working, stubborn, award-winning, Dallas-based CBS journalist/producer Mary Mapes (Cate Blanchett), who has a devoted husband (Connor Burke) and bright young son, and her cracker-jack team (Dennis Quaid, Topher Grace, and Elizabeth Moss) come under intense scrutiny by CBS' president (Bruce Greenwood) and rival news outlets when she and her colleagues break a highly controversial story (aka "Rathergate") with Dan Rather (Robert Redford) on "60 Minutes" just months prior to the 2004 election about the questionable Texas Air National Guard military service of then President George W. Bush.
