Pan Wonderful special effects highlight this rollicking, action-packed, entertaining, 3D, 111-minute prequel to Peter Pan, in which a precocious and mischievous British orphan (Levi Miller), who is living in a rundown orphanage run by a cruel and vicious nun (Kathy Burke) in WWII London, is snatched up by the pirate crew of the wicked Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) and whisked off to Neverland where he searches for his estranged mother (Amanda Seyfried), learns how to fly, and meets the future Captain Hook (Garrett Hedlund), a tribal warrior princess (Rooney Mara), and magical mermaids (Cara Delevingine, et al.) and fairies.
