Pawn Sacrifice A captivating, riveting, factually based, superbly acted, intense, 116-minute biopic of paranoid, intense, genius chess prodigy Bobby Fischer (Tobey McGuire) from his childhood days starting in 1951 as a young boy (Aiden Lovekamp) growing up with his divorced, Communist mother (Robin Weigert) in Brooklyn, New York, to eventually competing in the world chess championship in 1972 against legendary Russian chess player Boris Spassky (Liev Schreiber) in Reykjavik, Iceland, with the help of his controlling manager (Michael Stuhlbarg), his concerned sister (Lily Rabe), and a supportive priest (Peter Sarsgaard).
