Stamp and Kit Lambert who searched for a British rock group to manage in the late 1960s in order to make an underground film as a stepping stone into film directing and ended up managing Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, Keith Moon, and John Entwistle of the High Numbers which eventually turned into the highly successful the Who.
