Danny Collins

After an aging, cocaine-snorting musician (Al Pacino) receives a letter that John Lennon wrote to him in 1971 from his longtime manager (Christopher Plummer) as a birthday gift in this entertaining, well-acted, factually inspired, star-dotted (Josh Peck and Melissa Benoist), 106-minute film, he decides to turn around his life by leaving his adulterous wife (Katarina Cas) in Los Angeles, by moving into a Jew Jersey hotel run by no-nonsense manager (Annette Bening) to write new songs, and by trying to connect with his estranged son (Bobby Cannavale), his 6-month pregnant daughter-in-law (Jennifer Garner), and his ADHD-afflicted, 7-year-old granddaughter ( Giselle Eisenberg).
