Serena

After a beautiful, manipulative, jealous, headstrong wife (Jennifer Lawrence) loses her baby during childbirth and then learns that her lumber company owner husband (Bradley Cooper), who is building a railroad in 1929 in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee during the Depression and running into problems with his duplicitous right-hand man (David Dencik) and the local sheriff (Toby Jones), in this oddball, disappointing, unpredictable, 109-minute, 2014 film highlighted by gorgeous cinematography and based on Ron Rash's 2008 novel, she discovers her husband has a son with a dark-haired, railroad employee (Ana Ularu) and gets an ex-con (Rhys Ifans) who owes his life to her to kill the baby.
