Gunman, The After a former, weathered, memory-impaired, highly skilled Special Forces soldier/sniper (Sean Penn) kills the mining minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2006 for an unknown client and then finds himself the target of tenacious assassins (Peter Franzén, et al.) eight years later in this riveting, intense, well-acted, bullet-riddled, 115-minute film based on Jean-Patrick Manchette's novel The Prone Gunman, he seeks answers from former allies (Javier Bardem, Ray Winstone, Mark Rylance, et al.) while trying to protect the woman (Jasmine Trinca) he loves with the eventual help of an Interpol agent (Idris Elba).
