Chappie When a South African robotics engineer (Dev Patel) installs artificial intelligence software in a robot (voiceover by Sharlto Copley) against the wishes of his boss (Sigourney Weaver) in 2016 and the childlike robot is then stolen by some two-bit hoodlums (Ninja, Jose Pablo Cantillo, and Yo-Landi Visser) who owe millions to a crime lord in this uneven, silly, satiric, 2-hour, sci-fi thriller, a rivalry ensues with a jealous, mullet-wearing coworker (Hugh Jackman) and all hell breaks out when the other police droids go offline in Johannesburg.
