Selma

An Oscar-nominated, riveting, inspirational, well-acted, factually based, star-studded (Martin Sheen, Tim Roth, Cuba Gooding Jr., Giovanni Ribisi, Alessandro Nivola, and Dylan Baker), violent, 127-minute historical drama that chronicles the valiant efforts and sacrifices of tenacious civil rights visionary leader Dr. Martin Luther King (David Oyelowo), who was supported by his devoted wife (Carmen Ejogo), as he tries to persuade stubborn President Lyndon B. Johnson (Tom Wilkinson) to pass the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that would make it illegal to prevent Negroes from voting while arranging a 50-mile march from Selma, Ala., to Montgomery with thousands of protestors (Oprah Winfrey, Common, Jeremy Strong, Tessa Thompson, Keith Stanfield, Tara Ochs, et al.) to draw national attention to their cause.
