Murder of a Cat After a bathrobe-wearing, nerdy slacker (Fran Kranz), who lives with his mother (Bylthe Danner), finds his beloved cat dead in the street from a crossbow and two county sheriffs (J. K. Simmons and Ted Raimi) seem indifferent to finding the killer in this quirky, disappointing, unpredictable, 101-minute dark comedy, he teams up with a suspicious hairdresser (Nikki Reed), who also claims ownership of the feline, to track down the killer and in the process they discover that two stock employees (Leonardo Nam and Brian Turk) of a big box store are involved in fencing crossbows under the nose of its disgruntled, divorced owner (Greg Kinnear).
