Maleficent Imaginative creatures and gorgeous special effects dominate this dark, creative, family-oriented, star-dotted (Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, Lesley Manville, Sam Riley, and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt), 3D, 97-minute Disney film based on the classic Sleeping Beauty in which a powerful, horned fairy (Angelina Jolie) seeks revenge against a power-hungry childhood friend (Michael Higgins) when he takes her wings to gain the throne as king (Sharlto Copley) and puts a curse on his daughter (Elle Fanning) that on her 16th birthday she will fall into a deep sleep that can be undone only by true love's kiss.
