War Flowers While her husband (Bren Foster) is off fighting for the South during the Civil War in this down-to-earth, 98-minute, 2012 film, a strong-willed, independent North Carolina housewife (Christina Ricci) deals with raising her precocious 7-year-old daughter (Gabrielle Popa), caring for an injured Yankee soldier (Jason Gedrick) whose father (Tom Berenger) is a general, fending off a thieving neighbor (Kurt Yaeger), and protecting herself from hungry Union soldiers (Scott Michael Campbell, et al.) looking for food.
