Blackfish A startling, eye-opening, educational, 90-minute, 2013 documentary that consists of shocking film clips and interviews with former SeaWorld trainers (such as John Hargrove, Samantha Berg, Dan Somersall, John Jett, Mark Simmons, Carol Ray, Jeffrey Ventre, and Ken Ashdown), diver John Crowe, whale researcher and OSHA witness Dave Duffus, orca researcher Howard Garrett, former Sealand of the Pacific trainers Eric Walters and Christopher Porter, former Sealand director Steve Huxter, neuroscientist Lori Marino, and former SeaWorld executive Thad Lacinak to document the tragic death of head SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau in February 2010 by 8,000-pound orca Tilikum at SeaWorld in Orlando, Fla., that had a history of violence and other horrific incidents with killer whales that are kept in captivity.
