Romeo & Juliet Striking costumes and Old English dominate this heartbreaking, romantic, run-of-the-mill, 2-hour retelling of the classic Shakespearean tragedy in which an understanding friar (Paul Giamatti) and a compassionate, widowed nurse (Lesley Manville) try to help the beautiful, love-struck daughter (Hailee Steinfeld) of the powerful Lord Capulet when she falls in love and secretly marries a handsome Montague teenager (Douglas Booth), who is then exiled from Verona by the prince (Stellan Skarsgård) after murdering a rival (Ed Westwick), despite knowing of the intense discord between their families and that her parents (Damian Lewis and Natascha McElhone) have arranged for her to marry a count (Tom Wisdom).
