Kon-Tiki

An engaging, Oscar-nominated, beautifully photographed, 95-minute, 2012 remake of the 1950 Oscar-winning film that chronicles the 4,300-mile, 101-day, harrowing expedition of Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl (Pål Sverre Hagen) who left his wife (Agnes Kittelsen) and two sons at home while he and five friends (Gustaf Skarsgård, Odd Magnus Williamson, Jakob Oftebro, Tobias Santelmann, and Anders Baasmo Christiansen) sailed the Pacific Ocean from Peru to Polynesia in a balsa wood raft in 1947 to prove that Peruvians could have discovered French Polynesia 1,500 years earlier.
