Pitch Pefect Upbeat songs highlight this family-friendly, wacky, intermittently funny, lightweight, star-dotted (Elizabeth Banks, Brittany Snow, John Michael Higgins, Donald Faison, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and John Benjamin Hickey), 112-minute, 2012 comedy based on Mickey Rapkins's story about a talented college freshman (Anna Kendrick) who joins the Bella a cappella group (Anna Camp, Alexis Knapp, Kelley Alice Jakle, Caroline Fourmy, Wanetah Walmsley, Rebel Wilson, Hana Mae Lee, Ester Dean, and Shelley Regner) and tries to shake things up in an attempt to beat a successful all-male singing group (Skylar Astin, Adam Devine, Ben Platt, et al.) when they compete at the annual international championship of collegiate a cappella in New York City.
