Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters

Trite, cliché dialogue dominates this violent, gory, silly, poorly acted, 3D horror film loosely adapted from the Grimm fairy tale in which two siblings (Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton), who were orphaned as children (Cedric Eich and Alea Sophia Boudodimos) after the mysterious death of their parents (Monique Ganderton and Thomas Scharff), become famous witch hunters and are hired by a town mayor (Rainer Bock) to kill the witches (Zoe Bell, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Jason Oettle, Joanna Kulig, Alessija Lause, Vanessa Wieduwilt, et al.) to the chagrin of the sheriff (Peter Stormare) and aided by a beautiful good witch (Pihla Viitala), a teenage fan (Thomas Mann), and a smitten troll (Derek Mears) when a powerful grand witch (Famke Janssen) kidnaps children for a sacrifice during the Blood Moon.
