Ponyo After a cute, ham-loving, squirting, magical goldfish (voiceover by Noah Cyrus) innocently tastes the blood of a smitten 5-year-old Japanese boy (voiceover by Frankie Jonas) who saved her when she becomes trapped in a bottle and she then desires to become human in Hayao Miyazaki's colorful, family-friendly, 101-minute, animated film, which is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Little Mermaid and may be too complicated for young children, the parents (voiceovers by Liam Neeson and Cate Blanchett) of the fish become concerned when she turns into a little girl and the two steadfast friends go in search of the boy's mother (voiceover by Tina Fey) who has gone to help elderly residents (voiceovers by Betty White, Cloris Leachman, and Lily Tomlin) of a senior citizen center during a frightening storm while her fisherman husband (voiceover by Matt Damon) is out at sea.
