Frankenweenie After his faithful dog (voiceover by Frank Welker) is accidently killed by a car while retrieving a ball in Tim Burton's Oscar-nominated, imaginative, dark, black-and-white, 3D, star-studded (voiceovers by Christopher Lee, Martin Short, Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara, Conchata Ferrell, et al.), animated, Disney remake of the 1984 film, a grief-stricken, young boy (voiceover by Charlie Tahan) in New Holland lives up to his surname name by playing Dr. Frankenstein in an attempt to revive his dead pet Sparky when his lanky, spooky science teacher (voiceover by Martin Landau) inspires him during a classroom lecture in preparation for the school science competition.
