Solomon Kane

After a greedy, cruel, ruthless British captain (James Purefoy), who is estranged from his father (Max von Sydow), escapes the Devil's reaper (Ian Whyte) while fighting with his men (Robert Orr, Richard Ryan, Mark O'Neal, et al.) in North Africa in 1600, vows to be a man of peace, and then is befriended by a couple (Pete Postlethwaite and Alice Krige) and their three children (Rachel Hurd-Wood, Patrick Hurd-Wood, and Anthony Wilks) in England a year later in this violent, bloody, action-packed, poorly acted, 2009 film, he finds himself breaking his vow when the couple's daughter is kidnapped and a powerful overlord (Samuel Roukin), his henchmen (James Babson, et al.), and an evil sorcerer (Jason Flemyng) rule the land.
