Promethesus Magnificent special effects dominate this otherwise uninspired, convoluted, nonsensical, violent, 3D, 124-minute, Ridley Scott prequel to the 1979 sci-fi thriller Alien in which a spaceship crew, including the corporate leader (Charlize Theron), the captain (Idris Elba), an android (Michael Fassbender), archeologists (Noomi Rapace and Logan Marshall-Green), biologists (Sean Harris and Rafe Spall), a pilot (Emun Elliott), other crew members (Benedict Wong, Kate Dickie, Matthew Burgess, et al.), and a mysterious passenger (Guy Pearce), heads to a distant planet in an attempt to learn more about the birthplace of mankind on Earth in 2094.
