House of Pleasures

An erotic, well-acted, insightful, dark, 125-minute, 2010 French film (aka The House of Tolerance) that focuses on the bleak, mundane, oppressive, sheltered lives of an eclectic group of beautiful prostitutes (Iliana Zabeth, Alice Barnole, Hafsia Herzi, Céline Sallette, Jasmine Trinica, Adele Haenel, et al.) between Nov. 1899 and March 1900 who live together in the plush L'Apollonide brothel while following a strict set of house rules as they work for a no-nonsense madame (Noémie Lvovsky) with two children and serve wealthy and sometime cruel clients (Xavier Beauvois, Jacques Nolot, Laurent Lacotte, Louis-Do de Lencquesaing, et al.) in Paris.
