Circumstance

Maryam Keshavarz's semiautobiographical, authentic, down-to-earth film in which a comely, rebellious, 16-year-old, Iranian high school student (Nikohl Boosheri), who lives with her wealthy parents (Soheil Parsa and Nasrin Pakkho) in Tehran, secretly finds herself attracted to an orphaned, lesbian classmate (Sarah Kazemy) while her older, hotheaded, spying brother (Reza-Sixo Safai), who is a born-again Muslim, a former crack addict, and a morality police informer, also has eyes for her friend.
