Footloose After five Georgia high school seniors are tragically killed in a car accident three years earlier and the unreasonable town council members (Brett Rice, Tony Vaughn, Daniel Burnley, et al.) invoke a strict curfew and prohibit dancing outside of school functions in this entertaining, upbeat, family-friendly remake of the 1984 classic film, a dance-loving, orphaned student (Kenny Wormald) moves from Boston to the small town to live with his supportive uncle (Ray McKinnon) and finds himself befriended by well-intentioned classmates (Miles Teller, Ziah Colon, Ser'Darius Blain, et al.) and attracted to the feisty, flirty, headstrong daughter (Julianne Hough), who has eyes for a racecar driver (Patrick John Flueger), of an overprotective minister (Dennis Quaid) and his wife (Andie McDowell).
