Beginners

Dreadful pacing mars this dull, monotonous, nonlinear, indie film in which a grieving artist (Ewan McGregor) in Los Angeles falls for a spirited French actress (Mélanie Laurent) and shares with her memories of his childhood growing up with his eccentric mother (Mary Page Keller) and the pain of caring for his terminally-ill, 75-year-old father (Christopher Plummer) who came out of the closet after 44 year of marriage only to fall for a much younger man (Goran Visnjic).
