Way Back, The An intense, riveting, well-acted, factually based, 140-minute film that follows seven desperate prisoners (Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris, Colin Farrell, Mark Strong, Dragos Bucur, Alexandru Potocean, and Gustaf Skarsgård) who escaped from an unforgiving Siberian gulag in 1941 and attempted a harrowing, arduous, 4,000-mile journey with a plucky Polish teenager (Saoirse Ronan) who joined them on the way to walk across the Gobi Desert and the Himalayas to India and freedom.
