La Mission When a vintage-car-loving, tattooed, widowed bus driver (Benjamin Bratt) discovers unexpectedly that his teenage son (Jeremy Ray Valdez) is gay and is in love with another high school student (Max Rosenak) in San Francisco in this gritty, realistic, well-acted 2009 film, a feisty neighbor (Erika Alexander), his concerned brother (Patrick Shining Elk) and sister-in-law (Talisa Soto Bratt), and a best friend (Ruben Gonzalez) try to help him come to terms with his son's homosexuality and accept him unconditionally.
