Disney's A Christmas Carol

Spectacular, imaginative animation highlights this dark, adult-geared, three-dimensional, star-dotted (Robin Wright Penn, Bob Hoskins, and Cary Elwes) animated film that retells the Charles Dickens' classic about an unhappy, lonely, workaholic banker (voiceover by Jim Carrey) in 1843 who confronts his unhappy childhood and the loss of the woman he loved and changes his miserly ways and humbug spirit toward his faithful employee (voiceover by Gary Oldman) and nephew (voiceover by Colin Firth) when he is visited by the ghosts of his former partner and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet-to-Come on Christmas Eve; too frightening for young children.
