Amelia Gorgeous cinematography and period costumes highlight this engaging, well-paced, entertaining, factually based film about the rise to fame of strong-willed, independent, Kansas-born aviator Amelia Earhart (Hilary Swank) after meeting her publisher husband George Putman (Richard Geer) in New York City, promoting women in aviation with West Point flying instructor Gene Vidal (Ewan McGregor), and culminating in her tragic, unsuccessful attempt to circumvent the globe with navigator Fred Noonan (Christopher Eccleston) in 1937.
